The short version

• Your putting stays on your phone unless you choose otherwise. Sessions, stats, putters and swing clips live in a database on your device.
• You can choose to help improve Lagr. If you turn on "Help improve Lagr", the app sends us your putting log, the stats and Lagr Strength Index it showed you, your swing measurements, your putters and app-usage statistics under a random ID that your phone makes — no name, no email, no account. A second, separate choice, "Also send occasional swing pictures", sends a few still frames or a short clip now and then. A picture or clip shows you, so it is not anonymous; people at our company may review and mark it, and we use it to develop our own putting-analysis models. Both are off until you turn them on, and you can turn them off at any time.
• You can delete what you've sent. Settings shows your ID and has a "Delete what I've sent" button.
• We don't sell your data. If that ever changes, we'll ask you first.
• On lagrapp.com, we measure our ads only if you click "Allow", and you can join our mailing list or sign in to a dashboard only if you choose to.

What stays on your device

Everything you log lives in one database on your iPhone (and, while you use it, on your Apple Watch): your putting sessions — where each putt started, whether it dropped, where it finished — your stats, the Lagr Strength Index, your putters and their details, your settings, and your swing clips and their measurements. It moves between your iPhone and your paired Apple Watch over Apple's on-device WatchConnectivity, never over the internet. If your phone backs up to iCloud, app data rides along like any other app's — that backup is yours, governed by Apple, and we cannot read it. The Company does not receive any of it unless you turn on the sharing described below. You delete it by deleting a session, a clip or a putter in the app, with Settings → "Delete my putt data", or by deleting the app.

What you can choose to send us

Nothing leaves the app for The Company unless you turn it on — in Settings → Help improve Lagr, or on the card the app shows once after your first swing analysis. There are two separate choices:

1. "Help improve Lagr" — as you practise, and from time to time for app usage, Lagr sends:

• Your putting log: each putt you log — how far it started, whether it dropped or where it finished (distance and direction), the kind of practice or challenge, and the date. Putts are kept in order, without the time of day;
• Swing measurements: the body-position points Apple's on-device vision framework calculates from your swing video, the path of the putter and the ball, the timing of the stroke (start, top of the backstroke, contact), the numbers Lagr showed you, and whether you kept or redid the swing;
• The results Lagr showed you: your stats (such as make percentage by distance) and your Lagr Strength Index, as the app calculated them, so we can check that Lagr reports them correctly;
• Your putters: the name you gave each one, its brand and model, and its details (head, face, build, hosel, toe flow, length, grip), if you entered them;
• App-usage statistics: how many times a day you use each feature (for example, putts logged or swings kept), a few of your settings, and error codes;
• Device details: phone and watch model, iOS / watchOS version and app version;
• Battery and performance: while Lagr is open, the phone’s battery level (as iOS reports it, in steps of 5%), whether it is charging or in Low Power Mode, how warm iOS says the phone is running (one of four levels, not a temperature), how long the camera ran, and Apple’s daily performance summary for Lagr (processor and graphics time, memory used, and how often iOS closed Lagr);
• Your rating of a swing's read — "Looks right" or "Looks wrong" — if you give one. It is your opinion, and we treat it as that;
• Your random ID and the date (not the time of day).

2. "Also send occasional swing pictures" — only if you turn this on as well: now and then, a few small still frames from a swing (e.g. address, top of the backstroke, contact) or a short clip of the stroke as it was recorded, with no sound. Swings that Lagr read badly, or that you rated "Looks wrong", are more likely to be picked, as well as some at random. These show you putting. A picture or clip can show who you are, even though it is filed under a random ID — so it is not anonymous. People at our company may review it and mark things in it (for example where the ball, putter and your body are), and we use it to check our measurements and to develop and test our own putting-analysis models. We never use it to identify you.

What we never send: your name, email, contacts, photos library, exact location, Health data, or any sound. Lagr reads your location only to calibrate your stride, and that stays on your device (below).

Why: to make Lagr's measurements more accurate across different players, putters, phones, light and greens; to develop and test our own putting-analysis models (software that finds the golfer, the putter and the ball in video and measures the stroke); to find and fix problems; to make Lagr use less battery and run cooler; and to understand which features are useful. Your putts are treated as examples of how people putt, not as examples of good technique. We don't use this data for advertising.

Who can use it: you must be 13 or older to turn these on; the app asks you to confirm your age first.

Where it goes: the app sends what you share directly to our hosting and database provider, Supabase, which stores it for us in the United States. Like any server, Supabase sees the internet (IP) address your phone connects from. We don't store it with your data, and your random ID is never put where Supabase's short-lived connection logs record it, so those logs can't tie an address to what you sent.

Your random ID, and deleting what you've sent

When you first turn on sharing, your phone makes a random ID. It is stored in your phone's secure storage (the Keychain), so it survives reinstalling Lagr, and it is shown in Settings → Help improve Lagr → Your data ID. It is not linked to your name, email or Apple ID, and we don't try to link it.

• "Delete what I've sent" in Settings asks us to delete everything stored under your ID — measurements, statistics, pictures and clips, and any copies we have made from them to label or to train and test our models, which stay tied to your ID for exactly this reason. We complete it within 30 days. A model that was already trained before your request is kept; it is not a copy of your data, and nothing you deleted is used to train anything new.
• Deleting a clip within 30 days of filming it deletes what was sent from it. After 30 days, deleting a clip removes only the video; its numbers stay, in your stats and with us. Deleting a putt or a session, or using "Delete my putt data", deletes what was sent for those putts 30 days later.
• If you no longer have the app, email contact@lagrapp.com with your data ID, or ask us through lagrapp.com/contact.html; without the ID we can't tell which data is yours, because we don't know who you are.
• Turning sharing off stops future sending; it does not delete what was already sent — use "Delete what I've sent" for that.

Location and motion (stride calibration)

Lagr reads your location for exactly one thing: how long your stride is, so counted paces become feet.

• Location (GPS) — only while you're actively calibrating, from Settings → Pace profile. You tap "Start walking", walk a measured stretch, and tell the app your pace count. The positions compute a single number — your feet per pace — and are not kept afterward. No background location, and none while you're just logging putts. Location is never sent to us.
• Motion (Apple Watch) — if you use "Pace it" on the wrist, its step counter counts paces. Only the count is used.

Camera and swing video (swing analysis)

Swing analysis (a Premium feature, from Lagr 1.0) uses your iPhone's camera to film one putt at a time, so the app can measure your stroke.

• Camera — runs only while the swing analysis screen is open, and a clip is kept only when you accept it. Clips are video only — no sound is recorded.
• Tilt — while you film, Lagr reads your iPhone's tilt to tell whether it is upright or sideways. Only the tilt is used, and it is not sent.
• Where it lives — each clip, and what is read from it (tempo, head and wrist movement), is stored on your device, like your putts, and is not part of the export file. It is sent to us only if you turn on sharing: the measurements with "Help improve Lagr", and occasional pictures or a short clip with "Also send occasional swing pictures" (above).
• Apple Watch — while you frame the shot, a small preview of the camera picture is shown on your paired Apple Watch, sent over Apple's on-device WatchConnectivity, and not kept.
• Your height — if you enter it, it stays on your device and is used only to measure head movement.
• Deleting — delete any clip from its review page; Settings → "Delete my putt data" removes every clip and its measurements with your putts.

Health

Lagr does not read or write your Health data, and never uses data from health or fitness features for advertising or marketing, or sells it.

Exporting your data

When you use an export feature, your data goes to a place you choose — a file you save, or an app you hand it to. The Company doesn't receive a copy and isn't responsible for the privacy of data once you've exported it, unless you send it to us through one of our channels.

Diagnostics and crash reports (Apple)

Lagr contains no third-party analytics, advertising or crash-reporting code. If you have turned on "Share With App Developers" in iOS (Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements), Apple may share crash and performance reports for Lagr with us. That is Apple's mechanism, under Apple's policy and your iOS setting; we use those reports only to fix problems. Separately, if you turn on “Help improve Lagr”, Lagr sends its own battery and performance summary, described above.

Purchases

Lagr Premium is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase. Lagr never sees your payment details; the record of what you bought is kept on your device by the system (StoreKit) to unlock features, and Apple handles the purchase under its own policy.

Ad measurement, only with your consent. The homepage asks whether you'll allow ad measurement. Until you click "Allow", nothing from our ad partner loads and no ad cookie is set. If you click "Allow", we load OpenAI's ads measurement pixel, which sets two first-party cookies on lagrapp.com (__oppref, 30 days; __obref, 365 days) and reports that a page was viewed, from your browser and, redundantly, from our server. Your choice is remembered in your browser so you're asked once; clear your site data to be asked again. OpenAI handles what it receives under its own policy; we can't delete data held by OpenAI. The pixel has no view of your putting data.

Optional dashboard sign-in (lagrapp.com/dashboard.html). You can choose to sign in with Apple on our website. We store the identifier Apple gives us for that sign-in and, if Apple provides it, your email, with our hosting and database provider, to show you your page and let you delete it. You can delete the sign-in and everything it stored from the dashboard at any time. The app never requires it, and what you share from the app is not linked to it.

Mailing list (optional). If you subscribe on lagrapp.com and tick the consent box, we keep your email address to send you Lagr news. A standard email-delivery provider sends the messages for us. Every email has an unsubscribe link. We record which version of this policy you agreed to and when.

Contact form and email. If you write to us, we receive what you send and use it only to reply and fix what you report.

Who we share with

We don't sell your personal information and don't share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We use service providers who process data for us, under contract, and only to run Lagr:

• our hosting and database provider, Supabase (United States) — stores what you choose to send from the app (your putting log, stats and Index, swing measurements and ratings, putters, app-usage statistics, swing pictures and clips, and records of deletions), the dashboard sign-in and the mailing list. It sees the IP address of each upload in its short-lived connection logs; we don't store it with your data;
• our email delivery provider — sends mailing-list email;
• OpenAI — only on lagrapp.com, only after you click "Allow" (above).

Copies we make of what you share, to label it and to develop and test our models, are kept on our own servers, behind our own firewall. They are not sent to any other company.

We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our users or the public. If The Company is ever sold or merged, this policy's promises go with your data.

How long we keep things

• Your putting log, stats and Index, swing measurements, putters and app-usage statistics you choose to send: up to 24 months after we receive them, then deleted.
• Swing pictures and clips you choose to send: up to 12 months after we receive them, then deleted.
• Labels and measurements we make from what you send (for example where the ball and putter are in each frame) to develop and test our models: as long as we need them for that work. They stay tied to your random ID, so a deletion request removes them too.
• Trained models: may be kept indefinitely. They are not copies of your data.
• Anything you ask us to delete: within 30 days.
• Dashboard sign-in: until you delete it.
• Mailing-list email: until you unsubscribe; we keep the consent record as proof of what you agreed to.
• Contact messages: only as long as needed to handle them.
• Exported data: wherever you put it; we have no copy.

Security

Data on your device is protected by the device's own security and your passcode. What you choose to send us travels over encrypted connections and is stored with our provider, Supabase, under access controls; copies we use to label and develop our models are kept on our own servers, behind our firewall, still tied only to your random ID. We don't store IP addresses with the data you send; Supabase's connection logs, which see them, are kept only briefly and never contain your random ID. No system is perfectly secure; we keep as little as we can.

Children

Lagr is rated 4+ and can be used by anyone; everything stays on the device by default. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The sharing choices are for users 13 and older and ask you to confirm your age before they turn on; answering "No" leaves them off. If you believe a child under 13 has sent us data, contact us at contact@lagrapp.com (with the data ID, if you have it) and we will delete it. A parent can also turn sharing off and press "Delete what I've sent" on the device.

Your rights and choices

Wherever you live, you can ask us to see, correct or delete what we hold about you, or to stop using it: turn sharing off, press "Delete what I've sent", unsubscribe, delete your dashboard sign-in, or contact us. Because shared data is tied to a random ID rather than to you, we'll ask for that ID to find it. We don't charge, and we won't treat you differently for asking.

Regional privacy rights

• California (CCPA/CPRA). In the last 12 months we collected, only if you chose to share: identifiers (your random ID; an email if you subscribed or signed in), app activity (your putting log, stats and Index, and feature use), device information, your putters, and swing measurements, pictures and clips. We use them for the purposes above. We don't sell or share personal information and don't use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you. You may ask to know, delete or correct it, at contact@lagrapp.com; we won't discriminate against you for asking.
• EU / UK (GDPR / UK GDPR). The Company is the controller. We rely on your consent for "Help improve Lagr", the swing pictures, the mailing list, the dashboard sign-in and ad measurement, including developing our models from what you share — you can withdraw it at any time; on performing our contract for purchases; and on our legitimate interests to answer messages and keep our services secure. You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and may complain to your data-protection authority.
• International transfers. Our providers process data in the United States; where required, we rely on standard contractual clauses.

Links to other apps and sites

Lagr links out to Apple (the App Store, In-App Purchase) and to lagrapp.com, and opens web links in Safari. Once you're on someone else's service, their privacy policy governs, not this one.

Changes to this policy

We'll post changes at lagrapp.com and date the top of this policy; a change takes effect when it is posted there, even if you haven't updated the app. If a change would use data you've already sent in a new way — for example, sharing it with others — we'll tell you in the app and ask for your consent first.
